All doctors at Cohen Medical Associates are board-certified family physicians, and that means we are trained in internal medicine as well as general medical care. We perform dermatological and gynecological procedures, including pap smears. Dr. Cohen says, “We are really the quarterback of your medical team. Medicine is so complicated, with different treatments and therapies coming out, and the interaction of the varying illnesses and medicines, that not one doctor can take care of everything. You need a team of doctors, and your family doctor is the quarterback, coordinating the right care for you.”
At Cohen Medical Associates we are well-trained in geriatric care, and have a special interest in Medicare patients. The doctors go to nursing, personal care, and assisted living homes. We have a full-time nurse practitioner who sees patients with us at the homes. Our geriatric patients have special needs and circumstances—for example some seniors may have multiple illnesses that interplay with multiple medications. Because we deal with many senior patients, we are very comfortable dealing with their families and the concerns they have for their loved one.
Cohen Medical Associates is active in the field of wellness and replacement therapy, and we now offer individual assessments for applications of alternative medicine. Alternative therapy may involve the use of nutrition, vitamins and replacement hormones. Adolescents to seniors may benefit from alternative therapies, so please ask us if you are interested in learning more.
